Backup Data Security

Your data is completely secure. The data is encrypted before it is securely sent to our servers.

Our data center servers are protected behind secure hardware firewalls and only a single port is exposed on the public IP address. Even in the highly unlikely event that a hacker were to gain server access, your data is useless without the encryption key.

You can choose among 3 leading encryption algorithms any time between backups and restores:

1. 448-Bit Blowfish Encryption: the highest and fastest standard on the market, comparable to military-grade encryption!
2. 192-Bit Triple DES Encryption: government standard for 20 years, stronger than bank-level security
3. 128-Bit DES Encryption - also a government standard for 20 years, equivalent to bank-level security

Private Encryption Key: You can change your assigned encryption key to one of your choice at any time so only you will have access to it (View / Options / General / Security / Specify My Own Encryption Key / Set Secret Key). WARNING: If you then lose or forget your private secret key, our Backup Server administrators may not be able to recover the data residing on the server, so make sure you write it down and store it in two secure offsite locations.

Physical Security Features

Environment

• Minimum N+1 resilience on chilled water cooling system
• Temperature in technical space maintained at 22ºC (+/-2ºC)
• Humidity range of 50% (+/-10%) in technical space
• Chillers x 5 installed at level 4 supply 1.23MW of cooling per chiller
• Close control units (CCUs) provide conditioned air to technical space
• Chilled water distribution pipe work (ring main type) throughout facility

Fire Suppression

• Analog addressable fire detection system in all areas with manual break-glass units
• High Sensitivity Smoke Detection devices (HSSD) and alarm system in the return air-flow of CCUs with water ingress protection and monitoring provided within bund wall beneath A/C unit and chilled water pipe routes
• Gas suppression system using Argonite to technical and selected areas
• Sprinklers in corridors and selected plant rooms, dry risers to all floors

Power

• Minimum N+1 redundancy on power supply
• Mains power supplied via 2 x 11kV incomers to 4 x 11kV – 400V transformers
• Total available power of 7MW to the building
• On-site diesel tanks support 50 hours at full capacity with 8 hour, 24x7 fuel delivery callout contract in place
• 'Green' power from renewable sources
